VA Approved A&P Mechanic Program Overview

Located in Denton Enterprise Airport (KDTO) in Denton, TX, this 12-month accelerated training program is designed to get you to work fast. The specific training you’ll need to complete before being eligible to take the exam required to become a certified A&P Mechanic includes:

• Knowledge Exam
• Oral Exam
• Practical Exams

US Aviation Academy’s rigorous and practical training is part of an FAA-approved Part 147 school and meets all the strict standards set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

• VA Approved the use of Post 9/11 GI Bill® to cover most tuition costs.
• New training facility.
• A housing allowance is also provided to Veterans during training.
• Provides students with a full immersion into the aviation maintenance world.

Requirements to Enroll in VA Approved A&P Mechanic Training

To take part in the US Aviation Academy’s mechanics training and FAA Part 147 program the following must be met:

• All students must be 18 years or older to complete the program.
• Students must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• All students must speak, read, write, and understand the English language.

VA Approved A&P Mechanic Cost

US Aviation Academy’s 12-month mechanic training program is approximately $33,000. In addition, we have all the tools you’ll need, which can save you even more money. Our competitors cannot match our affordable program, career options, and well-connected partnerships. Competitor:

• 21-24 months to complete

US Aviation Academy offers convenient ways to pay for schooling, including:

• Flexible payment options

If you have served at least three years of active duty time, you may qualify for up to 36 months of educational benefits. At 100% eligibility, you will receive the maximum 12 month cap for the Post 9/11 GI Bill®  for the 12 month accelerated A&P mechanic program is covered by your VA Benefits.

• 3 years of Active Duty for 100% Eligibility
• $27,120.05 in Yearly Funding (as of August 2023)
• Housing Allowance of up to $2,400 (as of March 2023) May Be Available!

National Guard or Reservist may only qualify for a certain percentage based on eligibility and time in service.

• 6-year Reserve or Guard contract for at least 60% Eligibility

In addition, there is the Veteran Readiness & Employment VR&E Chapter 31 program, when approved can cover 100% of the tuition for Disabled Veterans. Additional resources include the Credential Assistance for Air Force COOL (Credentialing Opportunities Online) and Army COOL programs approved for Guard and Reserve military personnel that can offer more funding. Requirements to Graduate

US Aviation Academy’s Mechanic School is required by the FAA for an A&P Certification. Students will need to complete:
