6 Week Military Transition & A&P Test Prep Program

Transitioning from a military career to civilian aviation maintenance can be streamlined with the FAA Form 8610-2, which allows military-trained mechanics to leverage their experience toward an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification. By documenting military experience on the 8610-2, veterans can qualify for the FAA A&P exams, potentially reducing the time and training required. Programs like US Aviation Academy’s FAA-approved courses support military transitions, providing the education, testing, and industry connections that bridge military service into rewarding civilian aviation careers.

3 Weeks Online
- Test Prep for Written Exams

For individuals with civilian work experience in aviation maintenance, the FAA Form 8610-2 provides a path to earn an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification without formal schooling. If an applicant can document a minimum of 18 months of experience in either airframe or powerplant maintenance, or 30 months of experience across both, they may qualify for the 8610-2 authorization. With this form, they can register for the FAA written, oral, and practical exams to obtain their A&P license. To enhance their readiness, many turn to A&P test prep courses, like those offered by US Aviation Academy, which provide focused training and hands-on practice to ensure a thorough understanding of FAA standards and a successful path to certification.
