Become a JSX Pilot

JSX Pilot Pathway candidates will provide US Aviation Academy flight instructors with a career pathway created for a faster and more streamlined process for commercial pilot students looking to transition from flight instruction to an Embraer ERJ-135 or ERJ-145 first officer!
Candidates for JSX Pilot Pathway will be US Aviation Academy Part 141 Flight Training alumni that have become Flight Instructors. At 600 total hours*, Flight Instructors will be eligible for the program to interview with JSX. This program is also part of the United Aviate program pathway, allowing for even lower minimums for Aviate Participants!

* Lower minimums (600 hours) are for United Aviate participants only.

Basic Minimum Requirements

  • 600 Hours / 800 Hours

Do I Have To Train Part 141 to Participate in JSX Pilot Pathway?

Our Part 141 Professional Pilot Training is revered for the quality of experience, professionalism, and safety-conscious pilots that it produces. To become a Flight Instructor at US Aviation Academy, you must attend those courses Part 141.

Can I Really Apply For JSX Pilot Pathway at Just 600 Hours?

Absolutely! Our partnership with JSX has allowed us to provide our students with exceptional options for their future careers, however, the 600 hours is for United Aviate participants. Those that are not going through the Aviate pathway have an 800-hour minimum. 50 Multi-Engine time is also required!

How Long Do You Have to Train Before I Am a First Officer?

While our programs are built to work directly with you and your schedule, we recommend enrolling in our Accelerated Training Program in order to earn your Commercial and Flight Instructor Certificate in 9 months.

After completing the 9-month training program, our Flight Instructors average out at about 900 flight hours a year.
